What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involves the insertion of very thin disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face & body where needed. This superficial insertion will increase the local circulation to the face and stimulate collagen production, which will fill out the lines and give firmness to the skin for a healthy, glowing complexion.

What is LED phototherapy used for?

LED phototherapy is used for a multitude of skin conditions. The red light (620nm) can be used for skin rejuvenation, to reduce inflammation, and to improve healing, for example, post-laser treatment. The red light (620nm) can be used for skin rejuvenation, to reduce inflammation

How does red light therapy work?

Red light directly supports the core processes of your skin cells. This gives benefits both immediately and preventatively. Red light is thought to work by producing a biochemical effect in cells that strengthens the mitochondria. The mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell — it’s where the cell’s energy is created. The energy-carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things is called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By increasing the function of the mitochondria using RLT, a cell can make more ATP. With more energy, cells can function more efficiently, rejuvenate themselves, and repair damage.

Red Light and Collagen

Red light by prevents excess collagen accumulation that characterizes wrinkles and sagging skin. In the skin, collagen acts as a sort of framework, matrix or support structure for our normal healthy skin cells to be housed in—almost like honeycomb. If we have too much collagen production, as happens during inflammation and stress, there will be no room left for normal cells, and instead just a solid mass of inert collagen material.

This process leads to wrinkles over time, or in short extreme cases, to scar tissue. Both are a result of excess collagen production. This excess collagen production is basically an adaptation to stress. It hardens the tissue against future stressors, but reduces the function and flexibility, therefore accelerating aging. This happens to all of us over time, and the end result is sagging skin, fine lines and other signs of aging.

Red light and Excess collagen Production

Red light helps us to produce more energy naturally in our cells, so it alleviates the stressful state. When our fibroblast cells (collagen-producing skin cells) have enough energy, they perform their normal function of producing the minimal collagen framework and filling it with active, healthy cells. This results in firm, supple skin and a reduced rate of aging.

LED Light Therapy with Hyaluronic Delivery Mask

Hyaluronic Delivery Masks are a super hydrating treatment suitable for most skin types. They are cooling, soothing and with intense hydration the mask calms and nourishes dry and dehydrated skin. The mask has a soothing anti-inflammatory effect. Blemished and ablated skins are not to be treated with this mask.

Key ingredients of the mask are:

• Hyaluronic Acid: super hydrating, found naturally in our skins.
• Arbutin: extracted from the bearberry plant in the genus Arctostaphylos. It inhibits tyrosinase and thus prevents the formation of melanin. Arbutin is therefore used as a skin-brightening agent

Hydrolized Glycosaminoglycans:

An ingredient that increases the elasticity and pliability of the skin. Widely used in skin care products and cosmetics because of their ability to bind with water efficiently and increase depth hydration, improving the elasticity and firmness of the skin

Glycyrrhizic Acid:

is a widely used anti-inflammatory agent isolated from the licorice root. When used in combination with the LED lights the skin warms under the glow of the light and is even more receptive to absorbing the amazing ingredients that the mask has to offer. The results are boosted by the anti-inflammatory and healing properties of the LED red light.
